Watsonia 'Royal Salmon'

Watsonia Royal Salmon

Watsonia ‘Royal Salmon’ is a cormous perennial grown for its tall, upright spikes of salmon‑pink flowers in early to mid-summer, rising above fans of sword-like green leaves. Plant in full sun in a very well-drained, light, sandy or gritty, moderately fertile soil and avoid winter wet. In Ireland, choose a warm, sheltered site; in colder areas provide winter protection or lift and store the corms frost‑free after the foliage dies back. Excellent for adding vertical colour and structure to sunny borders and gravel plantings in mild districts.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
