Viola 'Blue Moon'

Viola 'Blue Moon'

Viola Blue Moon (Viola Cornuta)

Viola Blue Moon (Viola cornuta) is a compact, long-flowering perennial valued for its handsome green foliage and clear blue blooms that brighten borders, rockeries and containers. Well-suited to Irish gardens, it forms a low, spreading mound to around 15–20cm high and 20–30cm across, and performs best in full sun or light shade in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Expect a generous display from late spring into summer, making it an excellent choice for edging, ground cover at the front of borders, and pots or window boxes.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
