Vinca minor Elisa

Vinca minor Elisa

Vinca minor ‘Elisa’ is a mat-forming, evergreen periwinkle valued as a reliable, low‑maintenance ground cover for Irish gardens. Trailing stems root as they spread to create a dense carpet of small, glossy leaves, with a main display of single flowers in spring. It’s ideal for underplanting shrubs and trees, edging paths, or stabilising banks, and thrives in sun, light shade or full shade. Fast-growing and fully hardy, it will establish in most well‑drained soils, including sandy, clay or chalk; shear or trim after flowering to neaten and manage its spread.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
