Sarcococca hookeriana ‘Winter Gem’ is a compact, slow-growing evergreen sweet box valued for its glossy green foliage and intensely fragrant, creamy-white winter flowers. Ideal for partial to full shade, it performs well in north- or east-facing spots and is perfect near paths, doors, or seating areas where its winter scent can be appreciated. Grow in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil. Expect a tidy mound around 60–90 cm tall and wide over time; excellent for low hedging, shaded borders, woodland-style plantings, and containers.
