Vinca minor Bowles Variety
Vinca minor Bowles Variety
Vinca minor ‘Bowles Variety’ is a vigorous, mat-forming evergreen ground cover with glossy dark green leaves and rich blue periwinkle flowers mainly in spring. Ideal for carpeting banks, edging paths and underplanting trees and shrubs, it thrives in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil and is very tolerant of shade, including dry shade once established. Suitable for sun to deep shade and fully hardy in Ireland; trim back after flowering to control spread and maintain a dense, tidy cover.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
