Deschampsia cesp. 'Tardiflora' 20-25 cm.

Deschampsia cesp. 'Tardiflora' 20-25 cm.

Deschampsia cespitosa ‘Tardiflora’ is a graceful, clump-forming, semi-evergreen tufted hair grass with fine green leaves and airy late-season flower panicles that emerge softly purple-bronze before fading to straw. Reliable and fully hardy in Ireland, it thrives in full sun or light shade and prefers moderately fertile, moisture-retentive soils, making it ideal for naturalistic borders, meadows, and by damp, lightly shaded spots. Cut back old and tired foliage in late winter to reveal fresh new growth and maintain a neat mound.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
