Saxifraga Picotee 3 Ltr

Saxifraga Picotee 3 Ltr

Saxifraga ‘Picotee’ is a compact mossy saxifrage forming tight, low cushions of fine, bright green rosettes. In early to mid spring it sends up short stems topped with small, starry blooms, bringing delicate interest to rock gardens, wall crevices, the front of borders and containers. Best in partial shade in Ireland, it prefers a cool, moist but well-drained, humus-rich, moderately fertile soil; avoid waterlogging and excessive winter wet. Tidy by removing spent flower stems after flowering; the mats spread slowly to make neat edging or ground cover, reaching about 10–15cm in height and roughly 30–45cm across over time.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
