Primula vulgaris Belle Rose

Primula vulgaris Belle Rose

Primula vulgaris Belle Rose

A compact primrose for Irish gardens, Primula vulgaris Belle Rose is a semi-evergreen, clump-forming perennial that produces cheerful spring blooms above neat rosettes of softly textured leaves. Ideal for light shade, it’s well suited to woodland edges, shaded borders, path edges and patio pots where soil can be kept evenly moist. Plant in humus-rich, moisture-retentive but free-draining soil, mulch annually to conserve moisture, and deadhead to encourage a longer display.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
