Phormium Evening Glow 3ltr pots

Phormium ‘Evening Glow’ (New Zealand flax) is an evergreen, clump-forming perennial valued for its bold, architectural presence and leathery, sword-like leaves with warm bronze-pink tones. Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun for best colour, or in light shade; ideal as a strong focal point in borders or large containers. In Ireland it generally reaches about 1m tall and 1m wide, and is well-suited to coastal and exposed gardens; in colder inland spots, protect from severe frost.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
