PAPAVER 'Beauty of Livermere'

PAPAVER 'Beauty of Livermere'

Papaver 'Beauty of Livermere' is a classic Oriental poppy for sunny Irish borders, producing striking, large, silky scarlet-red flowers with dark basal blotches in early summer. The bristly, divided green foliage forms a low clump that sends up sturdy, upright stems, creating a bold early-season display and offering rich pollen for visiting bees. Grow in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun and avoid waterlogging, especially in winter. Deadhead promptly and cut back after flowering; foliage often dies back in summer, so underplant with later perennials to cover the gap before fresh growth resumes. Fully hardy.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
