HOSTA White Feather
HOSTA 'White Feather'
Hosta 'White Feather' is a distinctive shade-loving perennial prized for its luminous spring foliage: new leaves emerge creamy-white before steadily developing chlorophyll, maturing to soft green often marked with irregular white streaks as the season progresses. Grow in light to full shade, in moisture-retentive, humus-rich but well-drained soil; consistent moisture and shelter from strong sun will keep the pale early growth at its best. Superb for containers and shaded borders where its striking foliage contrasts with ferns and other woodland plants; protect emerging shoots from slugs and snails. Fully hardy in Ireland, forming a compact clump over time.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
