Helleborus or. Beaming Blush

Helleborus or. Beaming Blush

A long-lived, clump-forming Lenten rose for Irish gardens, Helleborus or. Beaming Blush is a semi-evergreen perennial valued for elegant late-winter to spring blooms and handsome, leathery foliage. Thriving in sun or light shade, it prefers fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil and will tolerate heavier clay and chalky conditions once established. Ideal for woodland-style borders and underplanting shrubs where winter light filters through, it forms neat mounds to around 30–60cm over time. Remove the oldest leaves in late winter to showcase the flowers and keep plants tidy. Fully hardy and reliable, it brings early-season interest when little else is in flower.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
