Festuca Intense Blue

Festuca Intense Blue

Festuca Intense Blue is a compact, clump-forming evergreen ornamental grass prized for its intense steel-blue foliage. Forming neat, hemispherical tussocks around 25–30cm tall and wide, it brings year-round colour and fine texture to gravel gardens, rockeries, containers and the front of sunny borders. Best in full sun for the strongest blue, it thrives in well-drained, poorer to moderately fertile soils and copes with dry conditions once established. In early to midsummer, short airy stems rise above the foliage with straw-coloured flowerheads that add a subtle, airy haze without overwhelming its tidy form.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
