Erysimum Winter Spice

Erysimum Winter Spice

Erysimum Winter Spice

Erysimum Winter Spice is a compact, evergreen wallflower valued for its long season of sweetly scented blooms and its reliability in Irish gardens. Best in full sun and well-drained soil, it copes with moderately fertile conditions and is happy on chalk. Ideal for containers and the front of sunny borders in cottage-style planting, it’s loved by pollinators; regular deadheading encourages prolonged flowering. Avoid waterlogging, especially in winter, and consider replanting after a few years as many perennial wallflowers are naturally short-lived.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
