Erysimum Winter Charme

Erysimum Winter Charme

Erysimum Winter Charm

Erysimum Winter Charm is a compact, evergreen perennial wallflower valued for its long spring display and reliability in Irish gardens. Best in a sunny or lightly shaded spot with free-draining, moderately fertile soil, it forms a neat mound to around 30–60cm, ideal for mixed borders and containers. Expect a generous flush of blooms from spring into early summer, and good value for pollinators. Avoid waterlogged ground, especially in winter, for best longevity and performance.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.

Position Position: Full sun or light shade
Growth Rate of Growth: Moderate
Soil Soil: Well-drained, moderately fertile; neutral to alkaline (incl. chalk). Avoid waterlogging.
Hardiness Hardiness: Hardy in Ireland in free-draining soils; shelter from severe cold winds.
