Dodecatheon p. 'Red Wings'
Dodecatheon p. 'Red Wings'
Dodecatheon p. 'Red Wings' is a clump-forming, deciduous herbaceous perennial prized for its elegant “shooting star” flowers in late spring to early summer. Nodding blooms with strongly reflexed, deep pink petals and a contrasting eye rise above neat rosettes of green leaves, creating a delicate woodland look. Best in partial shade and in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil, it is ideal for lightly shaded borders, woodland-style plantings, and among ferns and hostas. Keep evenly moist during spring growth and flowering; plants naturally go summer-dormant after the display.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
