Delphinium 'Guardian Blue'

Delphinium 'Guardian Blue'

Delphinium Guardian Blue

Delphinium Guardian Blue is a compact, upright delphinium producing striking spires of rich blue flowers in early to midsummer, ideal for adding strong vertical accents to mixed borders and classic cottage-style plantings. Best in full sun and fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, it appreciates a sheltered spot away from strong winds; stake taller stems early for a tidy display. Deadhead spent spikes to prolong the show, and mulch in spring to conserve moisture and feed. Fully hardy in Ireland and superb as a cut flower, this herbaceous perennial dies back in winter and returns each spring.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
