CORTADERIA sell. Pumilla

A compact pampas grass valued for its neat, architectural shape and late-season display. It forms a dense clump of narrow, arching green leaves, sending up stout stems in late summer to autumn topped with silvery-white plumes above the foliage. Best in full sun and moderately fertile, well-drained soil, it suits smaller borders or as a stand-out feature, providing structure and movement through autumn and into winter. Low maintenance and hardy in Irish gardens; tidy by combing out dead foliage and spent plumes in late winter.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
