CORDYLINE AUSTRALIS CLT 7/10

Cordyline australis is an evergreen, palm-like focal plant with bold, strap-shaped green leaves, ideal for bringing strong architectural structure to Irish gardens. Best in full sun or light shade, it prefers fertile, free-draining soil and benefits from shelter from cold, drying winds. In summer, mature plants can produce large, airy panicles of small, creamy-white, sweetly scented flowers. It is well suited to coastal sites and generally copes with periods of drought once established; in colder inland areas, protect the crown and young growth during severe frosts. Excellent as a statement plant in borders or large containers.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
