LAVANDULA s. Tiara (Lavender)

LAVANDULA s. Tiara (Lavender)

A compact French lavender (Lavandula stoechas ‘Tiara’) noted for deep blue flower heads topped with creamy bracts, carried above aromatic evergreen foliage. Best in full sun and very well-drained soil, it suits light, sandy or chalky ground and is ideal for containers, gravel gardens and sunny borders in Ireland. Flowering typically from late spring into summer, it attracts bees and other pollinators; deadhead to encourage further blooms. Avoid heavy or waterlogged soils and provide shelter and sharp drainage to help it through wet, cold winters. Drought tolerant once established and a good choice for coastal gardens; lightly trim after flowering to keep plants compact and bushy.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
