OLEA europaea 'Leccino' Half Std
OLEA europaea 'Leccino' Half Std
Olea europaea 'Leccino' is an evergreen olive valued for its neat, structural habit and narrow, leathery leaves that bring year‑round colour and texture. Best grown in Ireland in a warm, sunny, very well‑drained and sheltered position, it is ideal for patios, courtyards and formal planting where its architectural character shines. Small, creamy‑white summer blossoms may appear in warm seasons; any fruiting outdoors is most reliable after long, hot summers. Grow in light, free‑draining soil (or a sharply drained container mix) and prune lightly to maintain shape once the risk of frost has passed; avoid waterlogged ground and protect from severe or prolonged frost, especially in containers.
This is a standard tree with a clear stem and a shaped crown above. The tree was grown up to this stem height and then pruned to stop the trunk growing taller. The clear stem will remain at the height you receive it at, with future growth coming from the top of the tree.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
