Lavandula angustifolia (IT) P18

Lavandula angustifolia is a compact, evergreen lavender with narrow, aromatic foliage and highly scented summer flower spikes in classic lavender-purple shades. Best in full sun and very well-drained soil, it thrives on light, sandy or chalky ground of moderate fertility and neutral to alkaline pH. Ideal for sunny borders, gravel gardens, containers and low informal edging, it is drought-tolerant once established and a superb choice for pollinator-friendly planting. Trim lightly after flowering to keep plants dense and avoid cutting into old wood; ensure sharp drainage, especially through Irish winters, to prevent waterlogging.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
