Bay 4/4 Standard 50/55 P 25
Bay 4/4 Stand 50/55 P 25
Laurus nobilis is the classic bay laurel: a dense, evergreen small tree prized for its aromatic leaves and its ability to be clipped into neat, formal shapes. It grows best in sun or light shade in fertile, well‑drained soil, making an elegant choice for containers, entrances, terraces and structured planting. In spring it may bear small, pale yellow-green flowers, with any berries following only on female plants. Provide shelter from cold, drying winds and protect roots in severe frost, especially if grown in pots; prune lightly to maintain shape.
This is a standard tree with a clear stem and a shaped crown above. The tree was grown up to this stem height and then pruned to stop the trunk growing taller. The clear stem will remain at the height you receive it at, with future growth coming from the top of the tree.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
