TETRAPANAX papyrifer Rex 120-140cm 2 Stem

Tetrapanax papyrifer 'Rex' is a striking, architectural plant grown for its huge, deeply lobed green leaves, often felted white beneath, which give a bold, tropical look. Semi-evergreen in mild areas, it benefits from a warm, sheltered position out of strong winds to protect the foliage. Mature plants may produce creamy-white flower panicles in late autumn. Grow in moist but well-drained, fertile soil in sun or light shade; protect from severe frost. It can sucker to form a clump over time, making an impressive focal point in sheltered borders or courtyards with a lush, exotic feel.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
