Acacia dealbata

Acacia dealbata

Acacia dealbata is a fast-growing evergreen tree valued for its finely divided grey-green foliage and abundant, sweetly scented, fluffy yellow flowerheads in late winter to early spring. Best suited to very mild, sheltered Irish gardens, it thrives in full sun and well-drained, moderately fertile soil that is neutral to slightly acid. Grow as a striking specimen where its early-season colour and fragrance can be enjoyed, and provide shelter from cold winds and harsh frost.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
