PYRUS SALICFOLIA PENDULA

PYRUS SALICIFOLIA PENDULA

Pyrus salicifolia 'Pendula' is a small deciduous tree with elegant, arching weeping branches and narrow, silvery-grey leaves that provide a distinctive, soft sheen through the growing season. In spring it bears clusters of creamy-white blossom, typically in April to May, followed by small inedible fruits. Best grown in full sun and moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil, it is an excellent choice as an architectural specimen or focal point. Over time it can reach around 8m tall and wide, generally taking 20–50 years to do so.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
