Prunus l. Angustifolia C45 HS 10/12
Prunus l. Angustifolia C45 HS 10/12
Prunus lusitanica 'Angustifolia' is a refined evergreen small tree with narrow, glossy dark green leaves forming dense, year-round cover. In late spring to early summer it produces upright clusters of small white flowers, often followed by dark berries. It clips well for tidy crowns and formal shapes, making an excellent choice for standards, avenues and smart screening. Hardy and reliable, it thrives in full sun or light shade and in moist but well-drained soils, including those over chalk; left untrimmed it can develop into a substantial tree exceeding 5m, but it responds well to regular pruning to maintain a neat outline.
This is a standard tree with a clear stem and a shaped crown above. The tree was grown up to this stem height and then pruned to stop the trunk growing taller. The clear stem will remain at the height you receive it at, with future growth coming from the top of the tree.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
