Prunus d. Victoria

Prunus d. Victoria

Prunus domestica 'Victoria' is the classic, self-fertile plum for reliable crops in Irish gardens. It bears white spring blossom followed by heavy yields of red-purple plums with yellow flesh in late summer, excellent for eating fresh, cooking, and jam. Grow in full sun in a fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil, ideally in a sheltered spot to protect the early blossom from cold winds and late frosts. A medium-sized, deciduous tree that reaches its ultimate size over many years; routine summer pruning and thinning help maintain health and fruit quality.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
