PEAR CONFERANCE
PEAR CONFERANCE
A reliable dessert pear, Pyrus communis 'Conference' is valued for its white spring blossom and sweet, elongated fruits that ripen in autumn. Best grown in full sun and moderately fertile, well‑drained soil, it is self‑fertile (cropping is often improved by a compatible pear nearby). Fully hardy and well suited to Irish gardens, it forms a medium-sized tree over time and is an excellent choice for kitchen gardens, orchards and larger borders.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
