Magnolia stellata 100-125 CM C20

Magnolia stellata 100-125 CM C20

Magnolia stellata is a compact, slow-growing deciduous small tree or large shrub valued for its masses of star-shaped white flowers in early spring (typically March to April) before the leaves appear. For best results in Irish gardens, plant in sun or light shade in a sheltered position, in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil that is neutral to acid. Minimal pruning is needed, and then only after flowering to remove dead or misplaced growth. While reliably hardy, early blooms can be marked by late frosts, so avoid frost pockets and exposed, windy sites.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
