LIQUIDAMBAR STYR. GUM BALL CLT 30 / 35 TRONCO 140 - 150 CM CIRC. TR. 12 - 14 CM 3/4 STD CHIOMA 70 - 80 CM
LIQUIDAMBAR STYR. GUM BALL CLT 30 / 35 TRONCO 140 - 150 CM CIRC. TR. 12 - 14 CM 3/4 STD CHIOMA 70 - 80 CM
Liquidambar styraciflua 'Gum Ball' is a compact, slow-growing selection of sweet gum forming a dense, naturally spherical crown. A deciduous ornamental valued for its glossy, star-shaped leaves that develop rich autumn colour, it performs best in full sun or light shade in moisture-retentive, well-drained, moderately fertile soil that is preferably acidic to neutral; avoid chalky conditions for the best foliage display. Its neat, round canopy makes it an excellent structural specimen for formal designs, avenues, and smaller gardens where strong architectural shape is desired.
This is a standard tree with a clear stem and a shaped crown above. The tree was grown up to this stem height and then pruned to stop the trunk growing taller. The clear stem will remain at the height you receive it at, with future growth coming from the top of the tree.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
