Hamamelis int. Arnold Promise

Hamamelis int. Arnold Promise

Hamamelis int. Arnold Promise

Hamamelis × intermedia 'Arnold Promise' is a slow-growing, deciduous witch hazel valued for its abundant, spidery, bright yellow, sweetly scented flowers that appear on bare branches in late winter. Blooming typically from January into March, it provides reliable colour and fragrance when little else is in flower. The green summer foliage turns yellow in autumn, and the plant forms a broad, upright, vase-shaped small tree/shrub over time. Grow in moist, humus-rich, well-drained neutral to acid soil, in full sun or light shade, and avoid very chalky soils. An excellent specimen for winter gardens, mixed borders, or a spot near paths where the scent can be enjoyed.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
