Ginkgo bil. Mariken
Ginkgo bil. Mariken
Ginkgo biloba 'Mariken' is a dwarf, slow-growing selection of the maidenhair tree forming a dense, rounded to spreading crown. The distinctive, fan-shaped leaves are green in the growing season and turn clear yellow in autumn. Well suited to Irish gardens, it thrives in full sun or light shade in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil, and is fully hardy. Compact and architectural, it makes an excellent specimen for small spaces and courtyards, and is also suitable for large containers; over time it typically remains around 1–1.5m tall, broadening with age.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
