FAGUS SYLVATICA DAWYCKS PURPLE

FAGUS SYLVATICA DAWYCKS PURPLE

Fagus sylvatica 'Dawyck Purple' is a narrow, upright, deciduous beech with a naturally columnar habit, ideal for adding strong vertical structure where space is limited. Its foliage emerges and remains a rich, dark purple through the growing season, taking on coppery-bronze tones in autumn. Best in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or light shade (strongest leaf colour in sun); it will tolerate chalk and generally needs little pruning beyond removing any misplaced shoots.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
