Dicksonia Antarctica 90-100cm 3 foot

Dicksonia Antarctica 90-100cm 3 foot

Dicksonia antarctica, the soft tree fern, is a striking architectural fern forming a fibrous, upright trunk topped with a graceful crown of large, arching green fronds. Best in partial to full shade and a sheltered spot, it thrives in moist, humus-rich, neutral to acid, well-drained soil. Slow-growing, it can ultimately reach around 2.5–4m in height, making a superb focal point for woodland and shaded gardens. In colder areas, protect the crown in winter; remove old fronds as they die back to keep plants tidy and encourage fresh growth.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
