Dicksonia Antarctica 60-70cm 2 foot

Dicksonia Antarctica 60-70cm 2 foot

Dicksonia antarctica, the soft tree fern, is a classic architectural fern prized for its stately trunk and a graceful crown of large, feathery fronds. Best grown in partial to full shade and a sheltered position, it prefers consistently moist, humus-rich soil and benefits from protection of the crown in severe cold. Slow-growing and long-lived, it brings a lush, prehistoric character to shaded borders, courtyard plantings and woodland-style schemes, where its bold texture creates a striking focal point with year-round presence. Remove old fronds as they die back to keep the crown tidy and encourage new growth.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
