CUPRESS. CASTLEWELLAN GOLD (Pompom)

A compact topiary form of Leyland cypress, Cuprocyparis leylandii ‘Castlewellan Gold’ is a fast-growing, evergreen conifer valued for its dense, golden-yellow, scale-like foliage that holds colour year-round. Clipped into neat pompom tiers, it brings strong architectural structure to entrances, patios and borders, and is straightforward to maintain with regular light trimming. For the brightest gold, grow in full sun; it will tolerate light shade. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil and keep evenly watered until established. Fully hardy in Ireland; allow space or keep routinely clipped, and avoid cutting back into old brown wood.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
