Purple-leaved filbert. (hazel family). Large shrub or small deciduous tree with deep purple leaves. The yellow catkins, in late winter are followed by edible nuts.
Aspect: Full sun to partial shade.
Soil: Mopist but well-drained, neutral to alkaline.
