Aubrieta Glacier Red

Aubrieta Glacier Red

Aubrieta ‘Glacier Red’ is a low, mat-forming evergreen alpine prized for its vibrant red spring flowers that cascade over rocks, walls and border edges. Best in full sun and well-drained, moderately fertile soil, it thrives on neutral to alkaline ground (including chalk) and is ideal for rockeries, troughs and the front of sunny borders. Trim lightly after flowering to keep plants neat and encourage fresh growth. Fully hardy in Irish gardens and valuable for early-season pollinators.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
