AMELANCHIERA A. OBELISK

AMELANCHIERA A. OBELISK

Amelanchier alnifolia 'Obelisk' is a narrow, upright deciduous tree ideal for small gardens and tight spaces. Young foliage opens bronze, turns green through summer, then colours richly orange and yellow in autumn. In spring it bears masses of white, starry flowers in short racemes, followed by berries that are much loved by birds. Best in full sun or light shade in a sheltered spot, in moist but well‑drained, acid to neutral soil (avoid chalk). Eventual size around 8m tall and 1.5m wide; growth is generally steady and manageable.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
