Amelanchier aln. Obelisk

Amelanchier alnifolia 'Obelisk' is a slender, upright serviceberry selected for its narrow, space‑saving habit, producing clusters of white spring blossom on bare branches, followed by ornamental berries and good autumn colour. Deciduous and fully hardy, it grows reliably in Irish gardens in full sun or light shade, and does best in fertile, moisture‑retentive but well‑drained soil that is neutral to acidic (avoid chalk). Its naturally columnar form is ideal for small gardens or where a vertical accent is needed, with only light pruning after flowering to maintain shape.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
