ACER SHIRASAWANUM MOONRISE ZOLLA + CONT (CLT 35) H 80 - 100 CM
ACER SHIRASAWANUM MOONRISE ZOLLA + CONT (CLT 35) H 80 - 100 CM
Acer shirasawanum 'Moonrise' is a compact, slow-growing, deciduous Japanese maple valued for its striking foliage that emerges warm orange-red in spring, softens to yellow-green through summer, and finishes with vivid red and orange autumn colour. Forming a bushy, rounded small tree, it’s ideal as a specimen for smaller gardens, courtyards and large containers. For best results in Irish gardens, plant in a sheltered spot with sun or light shade, in moisture-retentive but well-drained, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil. Protect from cold, drying winds and strong midday sun in exposed sites to reduce leaf scorch; mulch annually with organic matter and water during dry spells. Minimal pruning is required—remove only dead or damaged wood when dormant; avoid hard pruning.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
