ACER SHIR. MOONRISE

ACER SHIR. MOONRISE

Acer shirasawanum 'Moonrise' is a compact, deciduous Japanese maple valued for its refined, layered habit and striking seasonal foliage. It performs best in Ireland in a sheltered position with sun or light shade, ideally protected from cold, drying winds. Plant in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil that is preferably slightly acidic. Minimal pruning is needed beyond removing dead, damaged or crossing shoots in late autumn or winter. A superb choice for containers and small gardens, and an elegant focal point in Japanese-style or woodland-inspired planting schemes.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
