Acer palmatum Koto-no-ito 60-80 CM

Acer palmatum Koto-no-ito 60-80 CM

Acer palmatum 'Koto-no-ito' is a compact, slow-growing Japanese maple valued for its exceptionally narrow, thread-like leaves that lend a fine, elegant texture. Fresh green spring foliage deepens through summer, then takes on vibrant autumn tones of yellow, orange and red. Grow in a sheltered position in sun or light shade, away from cold, drying winds and intense afternoon sun. Plant in moisture-retentive but well-drained, humus-rich, preferably slightly acidic soil. An excellent focal specimen for small gardens and courtyards, and well suited to large containers.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
