Acer palmatum Dissectum Tamukeyama

Acer palmatum Dissectum Tamukeyama

Acer palmatum Dissectum Group 'Tamukeyama' is a slow-growing, cascading Japanese maple with finely divided, lace-like foliage. Leaves are deep purple-red through the growing season, developing rich red tones in autumn. Grow in partial shade and a sheltered spot, in moisture-retentive but well-drained, fertile soil that is neutral to acidic; avoid very dry or chalky ground. Minimal pruning is required beyond removing dead, damaged or crossing shoots. Over time it forms a low, dome-shaped specimen, typically reaching about 1.5–2.5 m tall with a broader 2.5–4 m spread, making an elegant focal point for sheltered gardens in Ireland, particularly within Japanese-style or woodland plantings.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
