Acer palmatum Dissectum Inaba-shidare

Acer palmatum (Dissectum Group) 'Inaba-shidare' is a graceful, weeping Japanese maple forming a dome-shaped canopy of finely cut foliage. Leaves emerge rich purple-red, hold their colour well through summer, and take on vivid red tones in autumn, giving long seasonal interest. Grow in moist but well-drained, fertile, humus-rich, preferably slightly acidic soil, in sun or light, dappled shade with shelter from cold, drying winds; avoid very alkaline soils. Protect soft spring growth from late frosts. An excellent specimen for small gardens and containers where its elegant, cascading habit can be appreciated.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
