Acer palmatum Dissectum

Acer palmatum Dissectum

Acer palmatum Dissectum Group is a finely cut, lace‑leaf Japanese maple forming a graceful, cascading mound with elegant, dissected foliage that brings texture and calm structure to gardens and courtyards. Deciduous and slow-growing, it is best in light shade with shelter from drying winds, where its delicate leaves look their best and give reliable autumn colour. Grow in moist but well‑drained, fertile soil that is preferably slightly acidic; avoid waterlogging. Excellent for small gardens and for containers using an ericaceous or other acid-leaning compost, kept evenly moist. Minimal pruning is needed beyond removing dead or crossing shoots during the dormant season.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
