Acer palmatum Atropurpureum 60-80 CM C7.5

Acer palmatum 'Atropurpureum' is a classic Japanese maple valued for its finely divided, purple-red foliage that holds good colour through the growing season before turning brilliant crimson in autumn. Slow-growing with a graceful, branching habit, it makes an elegant focal point for small gardens and is excellent in containers or sheltered borders. Best in a protected position with sun or light shade, in moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained, preferably acidic soil. Protect from drying winds and strong midday sun to prevent leaf scorch.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
