Acer pal. Manyû-no-sato (60-80 cm 10L)
Acer pal. Manyû-no-sato (60-80 cm 10L)
Acer palmatum 'Manyo-no-Sato' is a compact, slow-growing Japanese maple valued for its striking variegated foliage. Each finely lobed leaf typically shows pale green to cream centres edged with purple-red, with young growth often flushed pink; in autumn the foliage develops warm red and orange tones. An excellent choice for containers, courtyards and small, sheltered gardens where its colour and texture can be appreciated. Grow in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil that is preferably acidic to neutral, in sun or light shade, and provide shelter from cold, drying winds and late spring frosts which can mark tender leaves.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
