Acer palmatum 'Dissectum' is a slow-growing, finely cut, lace-leaved Japanese maple forming a graceful, cascading dome of foliage. Best in sun or light shade with shelter from cold, drying winds, it thrives in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil that is neutral to acid, and is well suited to courtyards, Japanese-style planting and large containers. Maintain even moisture and mulch to keep roots cool; avoid shallow chalk soils and exposed sites.

This is a standard tree with a clear stem and a shaped crown above. The tree was grown up to this stem height and then pruned to stop the trunk growing taller. The clear stem will remain at the height you receive it at, with future growth coming from the top of the tree.
